From the boho style of Jane Birkin, to the more glammed up looks of Bianca Jagger, and the iconic ensembles of Halston dancing the night away at New York’s Studio 54 -70′s inspired fashion lovers had many facets to work with. And this summer, the same inspiration is wildly covering the streets of any metropolitan street you may stroll. Lots of lace, fringe, color and freedom is what you’ll see. Take the above Naf-Naf top and wear it with wide leg jeans or tribal print harem pants and the new gladiators (shown below).
Want to add edge to the look? Then get decked in large gold hoop earrings, a cocktail ring and a cropped lightweight leather jacket. 70′s inspired, 2011 updated!
We all love a little bad with our good right? So here’s a trend that will definitely take sweet and innocent to va-va-voom! Stackable bangles in studs, diamonds, leather and gold. Think BaubleBar when wearing this trend. They lend just the right amount of gorgeous inspiration to any outfit. They’re simple, chic, effortless, and oh so haute!

Fall into color this summer. No longer hip on just your lips, color this summer will be every where- and the bolder the better!
Patterns schmatterns, they all work as long as you blend colors that compliment. I’m talking mixing and matching florals and geometric designs, fuchsia and teal, coral and orange- no matter how you pair it you won’t go wrong.
Key pieces to work into any wardrobe this summer include cardigans in mustard or turquoise, a red denim or printed pant, floral skirts and dresses, and a flatform in crimson, lavender or clover.
However, if the thought of adding bold hues to your wardrobe makes you a touch uncomfortable, I’d suggest starting off with a single bright accessory. Something like the “You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me Collar Necklace” (above) by Lizzie Fortunato is sublime! The marriage of silk, leather and gold chains will set any outfit off the richter scales.
Another great accessory by Lizzie Fortunato is her “Palace in Pondicherry” necklace. The hand-sewn leather, beads and vintage chains are sure to jump start your love affair with bold hues.
If jewelry seems a bit too “splashy” I’d suggest pairing a bold bag or shoe with a more demure outfit. The object isn’t just to jump out there for the sake of being “trendy”. It’s about feeling comfortable, timeless, classy and yes even a bit edgy.
But I must warn you, once you begin to dabble in the spectrum of light, the color bug will bite you and there will be no turning back. You’ll soon be working the beauty of vibrancy into every angle of your wardrobe.
Every palette is perfect, as there are no rules to style. As long as you strut through your office or sashay the streets in confidence, your style will always be 100 plus.
So what are you afraid of? Go bold darling, and plunge into color this summer!
Fashions come and go, but STYLE never fades! ~Yves St.Laurent
You may be familiar with her classic jeweled encrusted “safety pin” earrings, and like the true fashion maven she is- Genevieve Jones has done it again. I am completely crazy over her 18k Pillow Clutch. I think Carrie (SITC) said it best, “Every once in a while a girl deserves to indulge!” Well, this little ditty here darling is definite indulgence and sooo very worth it!
You can dress her up with a gorgeous dress and sky-high red soles; or dress her down with denim, a white tee, fitted blazer and flatforms (no not a typo, the flatform is the “it” shoe this season.) This clutch is a definite statement piece. And the statement she makes sounds a little something like this, “I know I’m beautiful. I know have it together. I know I’m show-stopping and head turning… and I thank you doll!” Don’t you all just love how I talk about the purse as if it’s a live being- it’s because this clutch is just that amazing!
When I first saw it, the super fab and oh so beautiful Julia Restoin-Roitfeld was carrying it and I almost lost my composure. What was the glimmer that she was clutching onto ever so tightly? I had to investigate. So I took straight to Page 6, but there was no story on Miss Julia or on this clutch. I had to dive a little deeper. So I performed a google search on the style of what I thought the bag may have looked like, I scoured a few images and low and behold- I found it. Excitedly I admired the bag and quickly noticed the logo- A Genevieve Jones!!! Hmmm, but wait, GJ only makes jewelry… A bit more investigating was highly in order. After an hour online and making a few calls, I found out that Genevieve’s empire had quickly grown and clutch’s were now one of the highlights.
Like a kid on the first day of school, anxiety and excitement overtook me as my focus on a new obsession was in plain sight. How could I get my hands on this 18k beauty was my only thought. Then the echo of Carrie Bradshaw’s voice hit me- “Every once in a while a girl deserves to indulge!” It was like the style angels were telling me, “run Gennifer, have your Genevieve Jones clutch!”
Just to show how style never fades- this was 2 years ago, and still today I’m crazy over this GJ clutch, not to mention the unprecedented oohs & ahhs received every time it hits the street. So if you ask was the indulgence worth it? I would have to answer… ABSOLUTELY!
What makes a girl feel absolutely divine? A great pair of shoes of course! And have I got a few fab pairs for you!
Every darling should have a sparkly sling-back in her collection. They are the perfect mate for a BBD (beautiful bold dress), they can turn up the heat on a pair of tailored or boyfriend cut jeans, and they will add that much need pop at the hem of your slacks. The Sexy Sling Glittered Stilettos by Christian Louboutin are CRAZY! A bit of a splurge yes, but don’t think of it that way… think of them as more of an investment. An investment that will make your feet happy, your ensembles dance, and your fab-o-meter skyrocket to 10 every time you wear them!
“I’m sorry did you say there was a cocktail hour after work today? Well, I’m so glad I’m already dressed for the occasion!” Pair these Irina Suede Pumps by Pour La Victoire with a tailored blazer or belted a cardigan, and take your look from day to night with the snap of your fingers. Then all you need to complete your look, is a red lip and a clutch to match (which are both easy to hide in you work bag.) ….And voila you’re ready to hit the town and paint it the color of your pucker.
Hello Lova! was all I could say when I saw these red suede platforms with chain details by Versus. Wear them with a short floral print tulip dress or floor length caftan cinched at the waist, and you’ll have heads turning and necks breaking. You’ll definitely be the belle of the ball in these little ditty’s!
So now that we’ve taken care of the shoes- they can’t be worn without the perfect party bag. Check out the beautiful clutches to your right that will pair well with any holiday look this season. The crystal Anya Hindmarch (1st) is TDF, and the four finger Alexander McQueen (2nd) is just ridiculous- period! Now let me hear you say it…. owwww!
i would love to be in the style of boho\vintage. its just i dont always know the right combos or how to piece things together. could somebody help me…….plz. it would be greatly apreciated.
